God created man in His image and breathed life into this man, which He called Adam. Adam dwelled in a heavenly garden know as Eden; with his help mate Eve. One day while in the Garden they partook of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and this caused them to become self-conscious. By becoming self-conscious they essentially died to the Spirit and were banished from the garden. Death of the Spirit does not mean physical death, it is a reference made when an individual is separated from God’s Spirit. God does not commune with His children in a natural, physical way, but by the connection of His Spirit. God cannot commune with anything unholy and because of sin; Adam and Eve were now unholy. Since the deception of the serpent caused Adam and Eve to fall into sin, God would now curse the serpent and foretell of His plan to destroy the serpent so that He may once again commune with His children. God so loved His creation that He would now send His only son into the world to take the sin of the world upon Himself and be nailed to a cross for the sake of all God’s children. His blood would be shed and He would die, go to the grave and be resurrected for the salvation of mankind. Christ would rise and be seated at the right hand of the Father and whom so ever believed in Him would receive eternal life. Eternal life is connection to the heavenly Father by way of the Son, which was sent into the world so that believers could once again commune with the Father by way of His Holy Spirit.
The Spirit Man is intertwined with your intuition, conscience and communion or fellowship with God. The spirit is the God conscience which is where we form our relationship with God. Our spirit man is in battle with the soul which is self – conscious; our mind, will and emotions. It is also in conflict with the body which is the physical world; the flesh. In order for our Spirit man to have control over our life we must submit our will to the Lord. The Holy Spirit will begin to separate our spirit man from our soul. We need this breaking and separation in order for our spirit man to be released. As we go forward in our journey with our spiritual growth we begin to take back the ground which sin has stolen inch by inch. Our previous soulish, carnal nature gives way to the spiritual man and it begins to gain control of our fleshly nature. Giving way to the spirit man is not an easy journey; the old nature will not go quietly. We must change our thinking and renew our minds according to the Spirit. This is not merely a matter of releasing the Spirit but a matter of the purity and quality of the Spirit. We must allow ourselves to be transformed into the image of Christ. It is our spirit man who has access to the revelation and understanding of the truth. It is given to us as a sense, an intuition, discerning of situations or revelation from Gods word or voice. The truth of who we are in our spirit man becomes more evident as we seek to allow the Holy Spirit to work in us. We begin to delight in worshiping our Lord because of our connection to His Spirit.
We have put on a new man when we adhere to the spirit man and sometimes like trying on new clothes they may not feel right at first. However; our spirit man likes the new clothes just fine and He knows that we will soon grow accustom to the new fashion. Through our new fashion we have gained an abundance of freedom. We are no longer bound by the filthy rags of our old man. We have put on the righteousness of our Lord Jesus Christ. We know the light that has been lit in our heart. The light that guides and teaches our spirit man; it is the light that will guide us home. It is the light that will grow brighter as we give way to the Holy Spirit. It is the blessing of our Father in Heaven. Through our spirit man we have reconnected with the true nature of our heavenly Father. A nature that teaches us how to Love, how to be Joyful, and how to attain His Peace; it is the God in us, the divine truth, and the potential to be a blessing to His Kingdom. It is our Heavenly Father’s heart that all His children walk in the Spirit with him all the days of our natural life. He delights in us!!
