All God’s Generals are spectacular however, I do have my favorites. Let me introduce you to Maria Woodworth-Ether, Kathryn Kuhlman and A.A. Allen; they are Spirit filled, anointed healing evangelist with the working of miracles in their ministries. They are faith filled individuals who have pursued the call of God and overcame great obstacles in their lives. They were prayer warriors and we know that God honors those who seek Him in prayer.
Maria Woodworth –Etta was a great woman who laid the foundation for other women to be in ministry during the late 1800’s to early 1900’s when women were barely allowed to do anything outside the home. She took each step of her journey with great courage and faced many dangers. She was known as the “Grandmother of the Pentecostal movement and the demonstrator of the Spirit.” Kathryn Kuhlman loved Jesus with all her heart and she would be made to feel as she were a fool for dedicating her life to someone she has never seen. She was a tenacious woman who did persevere through all her trouble. She had a great presence of the Holy Spirit dwelling in her. She was the ‘Women who believed in miracles”. A.A. Allen was an over-comer of a very traumatic childhood. He wanted everyone to experience the healing power of God. He understood that people would be healed just by being in the presence of the Lord. He was the “Miracle Man” These individuals all possessed the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit in a spectacular way!!
Maria Woodworth –Etta did not answer the call of God on her life right away. When she did finally step out after losing five of her six children and her husband divorcing her; she would step out with great power. God called her and said “go out in the highways and hedges and gather in the lost sheep” It would not take long before she was preaching to the thousands. She would hold up her hand at the end of service and people fell out in the Spirit. She would display signs and wonders which would shake up the religious order of her day and even the secular society. Her ministry revived the church and changed the course of history.
Kathryn Kuhlman accepted Jesus into her heart at the age of fourteen. She would start out on the road at the young age of seventeen to preach the gospel. She would meet the man of her dreams and marry him. Later she would find out he was in fact a deceitful man and she ended up spending six years of her life in sorrow for going against the Holy Spirit and her friends who warned her about him. She later divorced him and would spend the rest of her life dedicated to God and the call that He placed in her heart at a young age. God would raise her up to cross religious and cultural barriers. She had a great presence of the Holy Spirit dwelling in her and she would do mighty works for the Lord. She once said, “ Faith is that quality or power by which the things desired become the things possessed.” With great faith and trust in God she would become one of the greatest known preachers of the twentieth century.
A.A Allen was born into chaos with two alcoholic parents who gave their children moonshine so that they could be entertained. His father left him at a young age and his mother was left to bear the burden of him and his six siblings. He later became drawn into the darkness of drinking and abusing his body to a point that at the age of twenty-one he would become ill and fear for his life; that is when he met Jesus and begun to follow His voice. God blessed him with a great ministry and led him into a greater life than he could have possibly imagined. These individuals of God were inspiring to their era and their legacies are still inspiring believers today. They have been a great inspiration to me!! When I review their lives and see how they have overcome great hardships and what would seem like impossible traumas, to become impactful leaders for Christ; gives me hope for my own future.
Many of us come from a very tumultuous childhoods, myself included. I first met Jesus when I was ten years old, but didn’t understand what He was calling me into. I did not grow up with any religious influence and had no idea about who Christ was and what He did for me. I have always known God’s presence but never quite understood why. God has called me to His church; but because of my past life I have struggled with this until recently. I thought that He actually made a mistake and that He had the wrong person. Then I look at the lives of His generals and it comes to me; God truly is no respecter of persons. He takes those who are willing to pursue Him with all their heart and raises them up to be great pillars for His Kingdom purpose….. We who have chosen to follow Gods call are to bring about a new generation of divine encounters… A Holy Spirit Power Movement throughout the earth….”An Apostolic and Prophetic Momentum”. God is still raising up generals, those who have developed the fruit of His Spirit through the trials and tribulation. He has imparted into them the power to perform signs and wonders for His Glory. He wants His power to be demonstrated on earth as it was with these generals and Even Greater!!! He wants His Kingdom revealed on earth!!! God is the same today as He was in the beginning when He created this world. He is always looking to move in this earth through His Saints with great power. His Son has died for us so that we may receive His resurrected Spirit. God is looking for vessels to demonstrate His great power through in this world; God is progressive and His power grows with His people.
May God Bless You & Keep You Embraced in His Loving Presence♥ ~Sincerely Cindy
