The Life of the Prophet Jeremiah

Jeremiah’s Message from God And How it Still Applies

Jeremiah was the Prophet called to the Nations to bring about moral correction to the backsliding people. He was to make it clear to Israel the consequences that would come from their sinful ways and how the conformity or lack of conformity to God and His plan for them will affect their future. Jeremiah’s conviction to God was of a man formed of iron pillars. (Vs. 1:18) He was a magnificent man of God who endured great hardship for the message of God. He was also a man of many tears “The Weeping Prophet”. His heart broke for the people who would not adhere to the word of God. He was called in the womb; by God to fulfill an eternal destiny. As Jeremiah knew the sovereignty of God he also knew that the revelation of God’s word would apply for all of time.

We as Christian living in this modern-day world must still adhere to the words brought forth by God’s prophets. The words given in times past can still apply today. As we know the world has become a place of great sin, many false religions and false gods are rising up in today’s society. The world has fallen away from God; they have become desensitized to the working of sin in their lives and have allowed the devil access into their mind, body and soul. We as Christians must conform to the word of God, just as Jeremiah warned in the Old Testament it is a word for our time as well. Jesus being our great King and the Prophet of all time; who went to the cross and died for all our sins and sent His comforter the Holy Spirit to help us with our Christian walk, knew that we could fall prey to the enemy’s snares. This is why we must conform and be transformed into the image of Christ. We have it so much easier than those in Jeremiah’s time, but yet many still fall by the wayside. We fall because we fail to hear the warning of the word of God. We must stay in the word of God and submit ourselves onto Him that is greater in us.

Revelation of Jeremiah’s Message for Today

If ever there was a time in history that the message of Jeremiah was needed is today. With the world in a state of chaos and God being removed from all levels in society it leaves the door open for the principalities of satan to reign over people’s lives. Where satan rules there can only be destruction. Jeremiah called the people to repentance or face the judgment of their sinful way. Today we are faced with the same moral dilemma as in the time of Jeremiah. People of today are following the wrong god and wrong prophets. They seek council from people professing to be “seers”, but they are actually spirits of divination. They are led away from the truth and right into the hands of the enemy. We as Christians must arm ourselves with the word of God to counter the works of the enemy. Society is in darkness and is in need of great people; as Jeremiah to rise up for the sake of the salvation of others. As we see in the Jeremiah 27:2 “Thus saith the LORD to me; Make thee bonds and yokes, and put them upon thy neck,”. This shows us that without God we are in bondage. It was symbolic to the message the Lord was trying to convey to His people then and it still applies today. As believers of our Lord and Savior Jesus we must bring people into His light and teach them to live right by leading them into the wisdom of God’s written word…..By proclaiming the word of God even if the cost is great!! Jeremiah was given a great gift from God and God still wants to use His people with a rhema word for our time. Having the prophetic office operating in the church today; is as beneficial as it was in Jeremiah’s time. God is looking for a willing heart to hear His voice and proclaim His Holy Written Word, His Holy Rhema Word, His visions and His love to all mankind.

May God Bless You & Keep you  embraced in  His Heart.   ~Sincerely Cindy ♥

Jeremiah 27:1-5  In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim[a] the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,[b] “Thus says the Lord to me: ‘Make for yourselves bonds and yokes, and put them on your neck, and send them to the king of Edom, the king of Moab, the king of the Ammonites, the king of Tyre, and the king of Sidon, by the hand of the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah. And command them to say to their masters, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel—thus you shall say to your masters: ‘I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me.
