2 Timothy 1: 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Science reveals too us that we are born with only two natural fears, They are; the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises….both are instinctive responses to protect us in our natural environment. Every other fear that you have does not belong to you…Perhaps it was taught to you as a child; your parents imparted it into you or you learned it through some life experiences or it can also be a tormenting spirit whispering lies into your thoughts causing a perpetual cycle of fear to bring hindrances into your life.
Fear is an infectious condition, which can cause you to misplace your faith and paralyze your life….What does a paralyzed life look like… In the bible, it tells us about the apostles and their encounter with Jesus out on the water. They were out in the boat in the midst of a violent storm…they were filled with fear and with thoughts of how the storm may cause the boat to capsize or perhaps break apart. They were afraid and were crying out to the Lord…then out on the water they saw a ghostly figure….and they begin to shout amongst themselves…Is that the Lord out there walking on the water…SURELY IT CAN’T BE…Then Peter says, Lord if that is you bid me to come; the Lord replies it is I Peter, come…. Peter, with his eyes on His Saviour takes a step out of the boat, and begins to walk on the water…He is walking by faith and in the Spirit. As he moves forward toward Christ he can hear the chatter of the Apostles behind him…Peter what are you doing?? Are you crazy…you can’t walk on water; get back in the boat!! The waves are roaring all around him, the thunder is clapping loud bursts of bangs and the lightening is flashing…the wind is howling a mighty frightening screech and its gusting thrust startles Peter and brings fear into his mind. He takes his eyes off the Lord and begins to focus on the circumstance surrounding him…Oh Lord what am I doing out here…and in his fear he begins to sink…As he is sinking he cries out to the Lord to save him. Jesus immediately reaches down and pulls Peter out of the water and takes him back to the boat saying oh ye of little faith….Once on the boat Jesus calms the storm and the Apostles are astounded…declaring surely you must be the SON OF GOD.
You see it is easy to see the glory of the Lord when things are calm….but the Apostles had fear in their hearts and fear became their idol…. Can I be bold here for a moment to tell you that….Fear is an idol….whenever your attention becomes more consumed by something other than God….it is considered an idol in the Lords eyes. If you allow Fear first place in your life it will sing your faith to sleep and will eat you alive!! As we see in this illustration; as long as Peter kept his eyes on the Lord and trusted in Him…the storm had no power over him, the minute he took his eyes off the Saviour and placed them on the storm, fear took first place and he began to sink.
Fear is misplaced faith….We should never be led by the Spirit of fear…but by the Spirit of God because we are sons & daughters of God, We did not receive the Spirit to be bound in fear….we received the Spirit so we can stand in faith….FEAR IS NEVER A GOOD COUNSELOR….DON’T FEED YOUR FEARS….EXPEL THE FEAR FROM YOUR LIFE!!
A Sound Mind, with Power and Love says; Victory comes not in the absence of fear but in the resistance to fear. It says I may feel afraid but I will go forward in faith….It says I may not know the outcome but I will trust in the who does; my Lord….You see Fear is only a temporary emotion but regret is permanent…don’t allow fear to take up residence in your life.
When we are born into Christ we are born into Love…Christ is Perfect Love and Perfect Love cast out ALL FEAR….we need to return our hearts to Love…and live in His Spirit.
Lord Jesus we lift our hearts to you, we adore you Lord and glorify your Holy Name…You are Perfect Love and Perfect Peace…May we always find rest in you!! Lord we open our hearts to you today and ask that you search it Lord….if there is any fear found hidden in the depths of its chambers Lord we ask that you replace the fear with your mighty faith. Lord we ask that you keep our mind sound so that we may walk forward in your Power and in your Love, so that we may be your demonstrating disciples in the earth. May our hearts and hands always be the extension of your Kingdom presence and may your Spirit rule and reign once again throughout the land.
In Jesus Name…Amen!!

Romans 8:14-1614 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[a] And by him we cry, “Abba,[b] Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Matthew 14:22-33 22 Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. 23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. 24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea,[a] tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous,[b] he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.33 Then those who were in the boat came and[c] worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God
