There is NO Power in Poverty

Poverty is real

There is not one heart upon this earth that hasn’t encountered some form of difficulties, whether it is illness, loss of a loved one, injustice or emotional, mental and physical pain. Unfortunately these are the dark shadows that fall upon every life. They are a natural progression in the cycle of our lives causing us to mature into wiser, compassionate men and women of God. They leave us wanting resolution for the greater good of humanity and God’s Divine order.

In this world of perplexities there are many spirits that influence the natural world…we give access to them by our response to the situations or conditions in our lives…. There is none more tragic then the condition of poverty.  Poverty is a Spirit that robs you of your health, your finances, your possessions, your friends, your confidence and your value in the natural world, as well as in the Kingdom God….It robs you of your POWER. It is the thief that comes in the night…the thief that wants to destroy you; the thief that will take every crumb from your table; leaving you to travail. Poverty creates a cycle of perpetual hunger…hunger that is both physical and spiritual.  It creates a heaviness within hearts of the inflicted and imprisons them inside a fortress of night. Searching and seeking for a window of light, a door of opportunity and holding on to hope like it was the last of their valued treasures. Hope to find a crack in the wall of this fortress, Hope to find a bridge that crosses over the murky waters surrounding this enclosed pen… Hope in our Heavenly Father above to devour the enemy and break the season or cycle of destitute; Hope that lifts your heart and your eyes to see beyond the smoke and mirrors of the spiritual barriers. Hope in knowing that God is still in control even if we feel powerless.

The world, your fellow-man and satan will try to disillusion you…piece by piece they will steal the very essence of your soul; they will bind you inside that fortress if you allow them. While stranded in the somber places of unfortunate circumstances you must remind yourself that you are not alone…that the Son of God stands with you, embracing you with His love and intercedes to the Heavenly Father on your behalf. His Spirit has given you the fortitude to withstand the blockade of any natural environment and assures you that the Spiritual battle was already won before the foundation of the world. We are held in love; drinking from the well of His eternal supply of hope and are reminded that all things work for the purpose of His Heavenly Kingdom. He is our lifeline….We vainly believe that the pleasures of this world are real and substantial; however it is the condition of sorrow that continually reminds us of their unreal nature… The spirit of man is inseparable from our Infinite God, and can be satisfied with nothing short of His Infinite presence in our lives. He is our Hope and our freedom is found in Him. We can stand with joy knowing that in Him we are liberated by the light that overcame all darkness and that no fortress can strangulate His Spirit that resides in us. No spirit of poverty can imprison us, it may challenge us and the battle may be weary, However God can cause an earth-shaking move that will alter the course of anyone’s destination. It will cause the enemy to flee and the bonds of his chains to be broken.  Stay in faith and continue to sing praises unto the Lord…nothing kills your enemy faster than the sweet sound of praise; for the Lord inhabits the praises of His people In Jesus Name we stand free!! Amen

May God Bless You and Keep You Embraced in His Loving Presence ♥                 ~Sincerely Pastor Cindy

Scripture Meditation

Proverbs 6:11 So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, And your need like an armed man.

Proverbs 11:24 There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty.

John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Proverbs 20:13 Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty; Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with bread.

Proverbs 30:8  Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches— Feed me with the food allotted to me;

Proverbs 31:7  Let him drink and forget his poverty, And remember his misery no more.

Mark 12:44 for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood

2 Corinthians 8:2 in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality.

Acts 16:25-30  25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed

  1. Amen My Dear Sister Cindy; this is truly a very powerful message God has given to you. It helps to set the stage for all of us as God’s Children to be mindful that we have a duty and responsibility to our brothers and sisters. God has provided all things necessary for our survival in America and throughout the world. Poverty is something that can be eliminated if each one of us will step up to the plate and demand a change through our government leaders. Continue to allow God to use you to teach his word.

  2. Hi Cindy,
Good post. I heard Steve Tollestrup, CEO of TEAR Fund NZ when he came to the college where I was a student describe poverty as ‘Satan’s throne’. I agree with him. But Jesus called the poor ‘blessed’ in Luke 6:20, “Blessed are you poor, for yours is the Kingdom of God.” . I have to admit, I struggle with how the poor can be called blessed. It makes me wonder what the blessing is going to look like in the Kingdom of God.
    God bless, Jo

    • Hi Jo, I am happy you enjoyed the article. Yes poverty is satan’s throne….he binds people to their circumstances and they lose vision and hope…that is why they need a Saviour. Even some Christians need to be set free from the oppression of this spirit. As for the scripture in Luke 6:20 Jesus was actually referring to the saints that are suffering for His name sake that they will have the Kingdom of God; Its not so much about the actual poor people. Be Blessed ~Sincerely Cindy

  4. Hello Cindy,
Please do not take this wrong but I hear preachers, teachers, and the like all the time talking on this subject and quite frankly all I hear is a bunch of words. When you talk about “power”, or the lack there of why do you think this is? True “power” as I have come to understand it is true humility before God.The reason there is no true “power” is not walking like the sons and daughter we are called to be. So poverty is not understanding who we are “In Christ”, once we walk in this power then God can move. He moved with people like Smith Wigglesworth, Rees Howel, and others because they understood who they were “In Christ”. God will not move until his church truly understands this. Repentance as a corporate body is the key. The church in America has lost this “key”, I have pleaded with the Lord to reveal to me how to walk in this power. His answer has been clear, walk as a bond-servant lifting other up to him in true humility. Poverty exists because true humility does not. Why does the world dislike the church so much? Because we do not walk in this? It’s not judgement they seek, but a loving parent that will embrace them even with all their faults. With all my heart I believe in God, and I pray that through each of our own efforts we come to understand poverty can only be destroyed by walking as the true sons and daughter we’ve been called to be. Thanks for listening. Steve

    • I appreciate your comment and I do understand your position. However I do disagree with some points. Humility can be a false pride; as it was with the Pharisees and Sadducees. This is a religious spirit and God has not called us to religion, He has called us into relationship with him. True power comes from a position of Love…when you are in love you freely give yourself over to that love. In love comes obedience and those who know their Lord know His voice and follow. There is no pleading with God…it is only a matter of asking and it shall be given. Seek the Kingdom of God first and the power will be given. The Apostle Paul teaches us to go boldly to the thrown of grace. God loves it when we walk in the boldness of faith. Smith Wigglesworth is known as the Apostle of Faith because he understood the Kingdom of God. Rees Howell was known as a great intercessor and was able to move mightily because of His bold praying. I have also witnessed the great power of God…He has used me to heal the sick and once I resurrected a man who was dead for 20mins from having a heart attack. We as born again believers all have this ability but it is a leap of faith and knowing when the anointing is present to move in this power. Hearing the Holy Spirits voice is the key to moving in these gifts, the closer you are to God the more clearly you hear, His gifts are given by the Holy Spirit and there are great seasons of trial to go through before you are released into operating in these gifts. (1 Corinthians 12). Here in Canada we are seeing many great moves of God…and some of my friends in the states are experiencing the same. This is because they have the concept of the Kingdom and are not operating in Religion. As for poverty it will always exist because it is a spirit…Jesus told us the poor we will have with us always. Mark 14:7…But they have the opportunity to overcome by the power of Jesus; It is through lack of knowledge that people suffer. God bless ♥

      • @Cindy: Amen – and eloquently put! Truthful and truly the Anointing of God is upon you, for Him to use you to resurrect a person with His power – through you. All power and glory belongs to God alone, praise God and Amen!

Praise and Bless God’s Holy Name, Amen.

        • Amen Sister in Christ! It is so wonderful to be able to associate with a ‘true’ anointed individual, and not one that ‘lies’ or is a wolf wearing sheep’s clothing. A true Apostle MUST have the proof of God’s manifesting Healing power within their ministry! MUST!

  5. Amen! All around!!!!
